How to choose a psilocybin facilitator in Colorado
Questions that can help you choose clear, appropriate support for a regulated psilocybin experience.
Start with the role
Colorado’s regulated model uses the term Natural Medicine facilitation. A facilitator can support preparation, the administration session, and integration. That is different from psychotherapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment.
Ask a prospective facilitator to describe their scope in plain language. A clear answer helps you understand what kind of support is being offered and whether it matches what you are looking for.
Ask how the process is held
A facilitation relationship is more than the hours spent in a healing-center setting. Ask what happens before the administration day, what support is present during it, and how integration is approached afterward.
It is also reasonable to ask how a facilitator works when there is uncertainty or difficult emotion, whether their approach is directive or non-directive, and how they think about participant choice.
Understand practical details early
Ask where sessions take place, what is included in the facilitator fee, which costs are separate, how long the administration day generally lasts, and what scheduling policies apply. Clear practical information makes it easier to decide without pressure.
The most useful consultation is not a performance. It is a chance to notice whether the person’s way of communicating, experience, boundaries, and approach feel steady enough for the work you are considering.
